Hello everyone, I am going to teach you how to play chess. This website will include an explanation of what moves each chess piece is able to make, their individual names, and some basic strategies that may be helpful to keep in mind when paying the game. I will also include tips and a basic overview of the game.

Remember that the point of the game isn't necessarily to "eat" all of your opponent's pieces or to get any of your pieces to the other side. Much like a real war, the point of the game is to "overthrow the king." In other words, you must get your opponent to surrender by tipping over his or her king, or you must corner your opponent's king in a checkmate, an event in which the king can no longer move without being "eaten" by an opposing piece.
